do you tip at a bed and breakfast?

My wife and I are staying at a B&B for a week for our honeymoon. Who do we tip at the B&B? How Much?

I think you should tip at a bed and breakfast, although the people may be too humble to accept. If they don’t accept, be sure to leave a culmination of whatever you would like to tip on the nightstand when you leave, possibly in an envelope specifying who you’re tipping.

Customarily, tipping 10%-15% is acceptable, but I think that only applies for meals. Tipping a few bucks would be nice for every service they provide for you; a small tip for you baggage handler, possibly for the front desk, the person who delivers towels, definitely for the maid, etc. They may even have a tip basket at the breakfast area.

The nice things are bed and breakfasts is how unique and personal things are. Show them that you appreciate their establishment.

I think tipping 10-15% at ANY hotel, guest house or motel is crazy. I tip if the room cleaner does something special for me. I tip room service, as I would any waiter. But I’ve just never gotten into tipping room cleaners. In the US they are UNION workers; and they aren’t made to declare tips, so most don’t, and don’t pay taxes on them.

If you have money and want to tip, tip whatever you like.
