Anyone know of budget accommodation in central Paris?

I will be travelling by EuroStar with 2 friends to Paris in the last week of September for a birthday. We’ve got pretty much everything organised except accommodation. We’re looking for something that is pretty central (close to major tourist attractions).

We’re working on a pretty tight budget, so the more cost-effective the better. We’d rather not stay in a hostel (done that before), so we’re looking at budget hotels.

Any ideas?
Preferably somewhere within walking distance of the Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe area…

Nice & inexpensive hotels :

Paris Tourist Office http://www.parisinfo.com/

Check on tripadvisor.com clients reviews, pictures, etc

Try to take a hotel far from train stations Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord, it’s not a safe area.

See also appart hotels http://www.citea.com/apparthotels/paris

Book asap as on the last week of September it’s prêt-à-porter fashions shows and most of the hotels will be fully booked or only have very expensive rates.

When you book, try to ask to have beakfast included as it usually cost quite expensive, if you call the reception, you may convince them. Always call on working hours, between 9 AM and 5 PM to make sure you won’t speak with the night receptionists who can’t give you any cheaper offer, between 9 and 5, the managers & booking staff are usually present.

Where is the budget accommodation in Lyme Regis?

I’d really appreciate some help, I am trying to find somewhere v cheap for a 2 day stay in Lyme Regis in August. Breakfast doesn’t have to be included. I’m looking for the cheapest place to stay. Thank you!

Hi Cooper,

I am not sure whether i could be any help or not. but i saw no one responding to your question so i decided to jump in.
i’ve never been to Lyme Regis, so i can’t recommend you any good place to stay. however, normally i always do my hotel search from http://www.CompareHotelOnline.org
i found this website is really helpful since it has more than 1 million hotels data base that fetches directly from hundreds of TOP online hotel booking engines. so i am sure you will get the best choice with the cheaper price…
good luck :-)

Really cheap budget accommodation in Europe / the world?

* Want to go travelling this summer / early Autumn and spend an extended period abroad. Does anyone know how to get really cheap or free accommodation? I’m not too picky where I go, and it could be outside of Europe, as long as it’s low cost.

* What are the cheapest rates for apartments, hotel rooms etc? Is it possible to stay somewhere for less than £10 per night?

* Someone told me about a year ago that on a Greek island he found little churches that had beds in which you could use for free. Anyone have any knowledge of places similar to this or ideas to get around paying typical holiday maker fees?

* I’m not a backpacker as such just need to get away for more than the usual 2 weeks so I have to stretch my budget pretty thin.

* Not against package holidays if they are cheap enough. But I think I will be by myself, and most of package holidays are based on 2+ people sharing.

* Open to tents and camping or other options. But don’t particularly want to share a room with someone I don’t know.

* I want to move about too, so I’d be staying for a few weeks and moving on somewhere else. Are cheap one way flight easy to find without planning? for example, if I was in Spain and decided to move on could I find a flight to Italy or Greece quickly for a reasonable amount?

Thank you in advance. All info appreciated.

In Eastern Europe and South East Asia, you will find the cheapest accommodation. For the rest of the world, you can try couchsurfing.org Make an account there and you can sleep on someone’s couch, but keep in mind that this place isn’t a dating site or just to save money, but also to meet people with your same interests. But if you don’t want to share a room with someone you don’t know, neither hostels nor couchsurfing is good for you, which is a pity since a big reason why someone decides to travel around, is to meet new people.

Example in Poland, you can spend a week in a hostel for 50euro.

Eurail [if you're not from the E.U.] and interrail [if you are from the E.U.] may be your best options regarding transport. It just depends on how long you’ll be spending in each place or if you have a lot of places in mind. Trains and planes aren’t your only choice, you can even take a coach, which are usually very cheap: http://www.simpleexpress.eu/en and http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx

Do a lot of research before you leave, about planning, budgeting and stuff and maybe you will also change your mind about wanting a room by yourself.

Have fun.

I am going to Bali on budget holiday. Can someone tell me which backpack accommodation is good.?

I am allergic to dust mite. I need a reasonably clean accommodation. A shared accomodation is fine.

Stay at Kuta area, go around Poppies lane area, its a backpacker paradise, u could easily find cheap hotel start from USD 10-USD 35/night, many cheap restaurants with good taste, so close to the Kuta beach, great clubs…..you will like it !! :P

I’ve been googling like mad and can’t find anywhere suitable for a middle aged
woman on a budget.
Thanks for your help in advance :)
There is Brian, lots of backpackers and cheap and nasty hotels are way under $100
bur I need somewhere to sleep, not party all night
I would prefer central Brissy as I wont have transport

Thanks very much Tara :)

Annie,
What suburb are you looking at staying in ??

Here are a couple of numbers for some centrally located Motels that aren’t too bad (location wise – being local I have not stayed in any.)
Don’t forget Qld has the 07 phone area code.

Let me know if there are any more you want me to look up, as you can see I only made it to "C" in the Yellow Pages.

Albion Manor – 3256 0444
Best Western Hamilton – 3268 5011
Bonapartes Fortitude Valley – 3251 5000
City Palms Fortitude Valley – 3252 1338

And welcome back (home) in advance.

Any body visited Badrinath recently. What is the best budget accommodation. Name and address.?

Visiting Badrinath.Would like to suggest me accommodation neat and clean and near to the temple with approsimate tariff.

I visited Shree Badrinaath a couple of years back. There are a good number of well furnished, neat and clean Dharmshalas available almost free of cost. You may get hold of some guide book to get their addresses.
