What qualifies an apartment as a luxury apartment?

I see listings for "luxury" apartments. What does this mean in comparison to regular apartments?

Usually things like good air conditioner systems, furniture, jacuzzi bathtubs and sometimes a door man/desk who opens the door collects your packages. They tend to have features that are beyond the outside surroundings. Kind of the difference between a Resort and a Hotel if that helps. Like at a Hyatt Hotel there is a doorman, but at Best Western, you just walk out your self.

I’ve seen them too and been in them. they are usually the high priced placed that you’d really have to strain yourself to afford. The rooms are sometimes larger and higher and the view is nice and the carpeting is thicker and a nice color. sometimes they come with elevators. Sometimes they have underground parking for you, sometimes if you live in a highrise the hallways are very well lit and with plush carpeting. Sometimes they come with security guards who actually do work. And some have a fence around the complex or even a high fence. sometimes they have added closet space or the lighting is diffused or the light switched have the dimmer on them. Some include the washer and dryer. Some have the garbage disposal down at the end of your floor in the laundry room where you just stuff it in the chute instead of taking it to the garbage can. Some have indoor pools, some have consierge service, some are attached to a beauty salon. Some have elegant light fixtures and/or a classy tear drop ceiling light like a candelabra. Some have superb AC’s.
